The ACET team have a large amount of experience of importing data from various data sources including 3rd party applications and have developed specific importation routines which identify any validation issues that can then be resolved prior to importation. Thus giving the client confidence in the data and database. It is difficult to determine the exact time of an importation as it depends entirely on the quality of the data supplied for importation. If the data is 100% clean then an importation can take approx. 3 days for an equipment list of 10,000 items. If there are errors and validation issues it can take 10 plus days. The work done by the ACET team for each importation from a 3rd party database or data source is as follows: |

Receive copy of database or data for importation into ACET. Manual Data Mapping Process - Identification of tables, fields and data for importation. Issue client with list of additional information required (commissioning dates, alarm level calculations, material type clarification, design life, etc) Client returns clarifications and list of additional information. Run first in a series of test importation's to establish the quality of the data for importation. Issue client with list of importation issues for clarification. Client returns list of issues with clarification. Rerun importation routine. Check New ACET database contents against 3rd party data source or database. This is done by selecting a sample of equipment (items) at random and reviewing the data, results, material specifications, process information, inspection details, configuration tables, anomalies, failures, trends and reports where applicable. If the database, cross check highlights any errors, the importation routine is rerun with the appropriate change and or changes. This continues until no data mismatches are discovered. The live database is then requested for the actual importation. The live database is then imported and a further selection of equipment (items) is selected and cross checked with the 3rd party data source or database. The
New ACET database is then returned to the user for final checking and
acceptance. |
