| ACET Security is established at various levels, from initial logon through user accounts to module availability. System security is important as it allows the system administrator to allocate various user levels from read only to full administrative access. In addition to this it links with the system audit log which tracks critical user changes within each database. | |||

The system administrator is responsible for the creation of all user accounts which determine user access levels, privileges and database rights. Furthermore the groups (information) that each user has access to within the ACET Navigator and Group Designer can be controlled. Each user is allocated an ACET user ID and password (user can change). This not only gives each user access to the system but also controls which databases each user can access. System security is
also used to control the availability of the various ACET modules. This
is usually determined prior to use, but modules not available on start
up can very easily be made available for use. |
